I am Carla Johnson, a singer- and songwriter born and based in Basel (CH). Growing up in a musical family I early absorbed different styles of music and startet to write my own songs as a teenager.

2006-2010 I studied voice in Bern (HKB) and Berlin (UdK, Erasmus exchange program).

I was part of the band James Légères from 2005-2010. 

2016 I founded Go Ekspresyon! an open space for refuged teenagers in Basel to experience themselves in different art disciplines (see Film: Lass los! by Go Ekspresyon!)

Next to singing and writing songs, I also write poetry and combine this with small pieces of art (see section: Writing and Art). I have a passion for dance and projects that bring different people together so as the beauty of the unpredictable.

My marriage to am man refuged from the Syrian war, being mother in todays times so as my struggles with being bipolar have opened new doors to myself and to the worlds of people with similar fates.

Since 2024 part of the team Aktionstage psychische Gesundheit.
